About

I am Alex Sassoon Coby, the pitmaster behind Hellfire Barbecue.

 

I've got one mission, and that's slow-cooking the best meat I can find over real, live fires, and focusing on bringing out the very best in whatever animal I'm working with from before it hits my grill grates until the moment it hits your lips.

Virtually every culture in the world has its own way of combining fire, meat, salt and time, and I'm here to magpie as many of them as I can to produce the best food I can for you.

Right now my focus in on Hellfire Cantina, a new permanent home​ for day-to-day operations. We've got tacos, burgers, quesadillas and nachos on the menu for now, with more to come in time.

We only use the best local meats, sourced from local farms and butchers. We then smoke it for hours over natural wood, with our own blends of herbs and spices.

SUmmer 2023

Hellfire Barbecue is back on the beach in sunny Cornwall! Find us in Polzeath by the Galleon Beach Cafe from July 6 until September 1.

Menu

An array of tasty slow-cooked meats, (mostly) in tacos, served with home-made sauces and salsas, and a selection of very beefy smash burgers.
